From the Director

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. As our weather becomes cooler, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside play. It is helpful if your child’s jacket is labeled with his/her name on the tag. We have already accumulated many articles of clothing in our lost and found box.

Some reminders for the weeks to come:

VIRTUE OF THE MONTH
The virtue for the month of October is “Courageous”. It takes courage to separate from parents each morning, to make new friends, and to practice new skills on our play equipment each day. (Just to name a few). Please talk to your child about their acts of courage each day.

SOUND OF THE WEEK
The sound of the week for our Preschool friends is “C”. We stress the hard sound of “C” , found in carrot, cookie and cat. As the children learn how to spell, we will introduce the fact that “C” also has another sound, but for the initial sound introduction, that would be confusing. Please encourage your child to bring a sound object to school to share with his/her class during circle time.

GOLF OUTING
Thank you to Anju Parida and her committee for a successful Golf Outing. Thank you to all parents and friends who participated.

LADIES NIGHT OUT
Ladies’ Night Out will be held on Thursday, October 16th. Please come for an evening of fun, socializing, snacking and shopping. We are delighted with the response from vendors and are anticipating a great variety of goods. Please watch for more information in your child’s Wednesday folder.

SCHOOL PICTURES
School pictures will be taken the week of October 20th. Please refer to the flyer that was sent home in Wednesday’s folder so you will know which day your child’s picture will be taken. There was a “typo” on the flyer pricing one of the packages as $33.00 and $35.00 the correct price is $35.00. We apologize for any confusion. If your child is not scheduled to come to school on the assigned picture day, and you would like him/her to be in the group picture, please call the school to find out what time your child’s class picture will be taken. If the schedule does not work for you, individual pictures can be taken on their next school day.

FIELD TRIPS
Many classrooms will be taking field trips to apple and pumpkin farms this month. Please remember to have your child wear their Montessori Academy t-shirt on field trip days. Your child should have received a green Montessori shirt this school year. Please let your teacher know if your child did not receive a t-shirt.

DIRECTORY
Please be sure to check your information on your directory page for accuracy. Let us know of any changes so the Directory will be accurate.

EMAILS
Communicating by email is an integral part of the communication process. Please be sure that we have current valid email addresses for anyone who would like to receive information and updates.

KINDERGARTEN CIRCLE
We had our first “Kindergarten Circle” last Thursday afternoon. The Kindergarten friends from all the classrooms will meet Thursday afternoons from 1:15-2:00. They are a delightful, energetic group!!
